William Faulkner’s Complete Works Now Available As EBooks

Yesterday I noticed via an update from William Faulkner’s author page on Facebook that Random House has finally released all of his published works in eBook format.

It’s no surprise that I was not able to find any announcement of this, but I searched for William Faulkner at Random House online and sure enough they have 19 titles available, in addition to three collections of short stories, two sets of related novels and his Essays, Speeches and Public Letters, all available as electronic books. With the exception of the collected works, all titles list an On Sale date of May 18th.

Prices range from $9.99 to $12.99, and all the titles are available from multiple resellers including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, the Sony Reader Store and the iBookstore (at least in the US, because they’re certainly not available in the Swiss iBookstore!).

For those who’ve been waiting to get all of Faulkner as eBooks, how much will it cost? The total price for everything, without duplications, is $248.78. That’s a hefty sum, which is likely out of the question for all but the most ardent Faulkner fans.
